Current Obsession”Cold-shoulder trend”

Shoulder cutouts – Off-the-shoulder- Asymmetrical necklines – Crumpled Fabric

SPRING 2016

Shoulders were the go-to erogenous zone for spring 2016. This season there’s nothing hotter than giving the cold shoulder. From off-the-shoulder tops to shoulder cutouts to asymmetrical necklines, it felt like no runway was left out of this trend.
I’m not entirely sure what to make of the “cold shoulder” trend.  On the one hand, I can cover up my perfect upper arms while still looking summery.  But mostly I think:  this can go wrong really badly. It is going to stick around for the fall and it called “the bare shoulder fad” This 80’s style is making a comeback. It can be denim or in a sheer chiffon, or even in a sweater. What makes this trend cool is that its universal. It even looks good on the red carpet! No matter what your size, there’s a cold shoulder shirt for you.

How To Wear It Right:

1. Clean Lines. The best cold-shoulder tops and dresses have clean lines  do you really need a scalloped neck and/or a fringed hemline?

2. Cold Shoulder IS the focus. Try to minimize your makeup ( natural or neutral ) , hair ( no elaborate up-do’s please) and accessories.

3. Don’t Trend Out. Cold-Shoulder is a very trendy piece and if you’re in a setting where you’re not sure how people would react to this style, wear classical pieces to go with it i.e a pencil skirt or tailored pants in a wonderful fabric such as wool or silk.
